WHY THIS DECK EXISTS:
I'm a mother, a writer, a creative, and—though I don't always declare it loudly—an intuitive. Which is to say... I work intuitively. And when the ‘calling’ comes, it doesn’t matter where I hide, I have to create what I’m inspired to, or I just don’t get any sleep. And working with me, ...with a severe lack of sleep? Ain’t good news for anyone.
I have an academic background, so research integrity matters deeply to me. But I'm also drawn to mystics, to the numinous, to knowledge that lives beyond facts and footnotes. For this reason I’ve studied Druidry, the old-school way, via written correspondence through a beautiful school based in Ireland. I completed a course in astrological herbalism. I dove into the astral realms of hypnosis and trance work, and I have a daily practice of studying astrology (Mercury in retrograde really tested my resolve when moving this deck into the online realm!).
When my daughter was born though, something shifted.
I wanted to share Christmas with her—but not the confusing, fragmented version I'd inherited. Not the one where Jesus and Santa and elves and flying reindeer are all absurdly (yet lovingly) mashed together with no explanation, no connection, no story that makes SENSE.
I wanted her to know the whole holy story.
So, from the time she experienced her first Christmas, I have been researching. Quietly, obsessively, for the last four and half years.
